Once I was approached with a proposal to create a blitz exhibition at the Da Sein Gallery in Donetsk. There were two rooms to choose from – gallery halls and an abandoned basement, which was the house for local homeless people before. By that time, the white empty rooms of the gallery space were already extremely tired me and I happily grabbed the second option.
I didn't have any ideas about what the exhibition would consist of, and it made me a little nervous. I did not take art objects with me, hoping to create them on the spot. For this I only had one day. Examining the underground, I realized that everything I need is already in the basement, it remains only to choose the right items and illuminate them in the right light and sequence. The atmosphere of the abandoned premises suggested the need to work with the live light of candles and shadows from mysterious discoveries.
And, of course, it was necessary to remove garbage.

Одного разу до мене звернувся куратор Олександр Сушинський із пропозицію створити бліц-витавку в донецькій галереї «Da sein». На вибір надавалося два приміщення – зали галереї та занедбаний підвал, у якому раніше квартирувалися місцеві бомжі. На той момент, білі порожні кімнати галерейного простору мені вже надзвичайно набрили і я радісно вхопилася за другий варіант.
Жодних заготовок та ідей про те, з чого складатиметься виставка, у мене не було, і це змушувало трохи нервувати. Об'єктів із собою я не везла, сподіваючись створити їх на місці. Часу було – одна доба. Оглядаючи підземні володіння, я зрозуміла, що все необхідне вже є в підвалі, залишається тільки вибрати потрібні предмети і висвітлити їх у правильному світлі та послідовності. Атмосфера занедбаних приміщень підказала необхідність працювати з живим світлом свічок та тінями від загадкових знахідок.
Ну і, звичайно, треба було прибрати сміття.

The problem of choice arises before each of us regularly. The question is what we choose, by what criteria, from what angle we look at it, what we do with our choice and how we interact in the environment, how we present this integration, how we talk about it.
Проблема вибору постає перед кожним з нас регулярно. Питання – що ми обираємо, за якими крітеріями, під яким кутом дивимось на це, що після цього робимо з нашим вибором і як інтергуємо в середовищє, як цю інтеграцію презентуємо, як про це розповідаємо.
